Specialising in the design, management, monitoring, evaluation and learning of effective international development projects and programmes, Steldev’s Catherine Gould leads projects spanning organisations, geographical locations and sectors. Catherine herself brings a strong combination of skill-sets and experience:

  • Organisational experience includes:

o             International NGOs, such as Oxfam GB, Plan International, the British Red Cross and Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO);

o             research organisations, such as the Institute of Development Studies and Overseas Development Institute (ODI);

o             consultancies, such as Itad;

o             working in consortium across organisations and sectors

  • Field experience includes:

o             Africa (Senegal, Mali, Niger, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Togo and Tanzania)

o             Latin America (Ecuador, Bolivia and Guatemala)

o             Asia (India, Vietnam, Nepal and Bangladesh)

  • Sectoral experience includes:

o             Humanitarian assistance; Climate Change and Resilience building; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); Food Security; Livelihoods.

  • Subject matter experience includes:

o             Project and Programme design, coordination and management;

o             Design of practical tools, templates and processes, along with guidance for their implementation;

o             Capture and presentation of programmatic learning to influence future organisational policy and practice;

o             Development of programme, Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning frameworks, advising on their global roll out and application;

o             Design and implementation of qualitative methodologies for M&E data collection, analysis and reporting;

o             Working with innovation prizes for development;

o             Improving organisational effectiveness;

o             Meeting and workshop facilitation;

o             Development of successful funding proposals to institutional donors and management of donor funding;

o             Leadership e.g. of organisation-wide change projects;

o             Strategic thinking, developing organisation strategies and business plans;

o             Recruitment and supervision of project staff and consultants, providing direct and indirect line management;

o             Capacity development of field staff and partners in programme development, MEL and humanitarian funding;

o             Report writing and editing;

o             Ability to communicate and work in English, Spanish, French and Brazilian Portuguese (to varying degrees);

o             Networking and relationship building;

o             Working in consortium across organisations and sectors;

o             Works comfortably with global senior management through to field staff and community volunteers.
